After being shot in the second British war in Afghanistan, Dr. Watson moves to London, where he searches for someone to share a flat with. He meets Sherlock Holmes, a detective who is also looking for a roommate. They move into 221B Baker Street together. Soon Sherlock is asked to solve the murder of Enoch J. Drebber and his secretary, Joseph. Stangerson.
A Study in Red is the first detective novel about Sherlock Holmes, written by the Scottish author Arthur Conan Doyle and published in the English newspaper Beeton’s Christmas Annual in 1887. It is in this story that Doctor Watson and Sherlock Holmes get to know each other. They soon become embroiled in a murder mystery that tests Sherlock Holmes’ deductive acumen.
